Hey, I'm Danielle!

The solution to your “shit, I should really work on my blog” problem.

You know you *should* be blogging, but right now, it’s just one more thing on that never-ending list of projects you’ll get to “someday.”

As a former photographer, I know how it feels to be drowning in work and neglect your own business. Between serving clients, posting on social media, and attempting to have some semblance of a life outside of work, the last thing you have time for is writing a weekly blog post —and an intentional, effective one at that.

My job is to take that stress off your shoulders and create blogs you’re excited to share with potential + current customers alike.

I'm not a boring ol' SEO nerd using a templated copy-and-paste formula.

I'm a creative copywriter who adapts to your voice, your industry, and your unique goals. Add to that my SEO wizardry and sparkling personality… and you’ve got a match made in blogging heaven.

You know ranking on Google could transform your business—but only if you share high-quality, in-depth content.

And that means handing over the reins to someone who gets it.

Growing up, I was always the “good girl” — the perfect daughter and student, an avid youth group participant at our church. When I went away to college, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that I was on the right path.

So it came as a bit of a shock when I completely dropped out 2 years later, whoooops.

The truth was, I was dealing with terrible anxiety and depression after starting college, and life at an intense Christian school was only making it worse. Although barely anyone understood my decision at the time, dropping out was the first step toward finally following my intuition, and realizing I could break out of the traditional path to create my own. I went full-time in my business that same month and haven’t looked back since!

Now, in my 20s, I’ve built a thriving blogging business and get to do what I love every day. But the best part is, my work also allows my clients to spend more time doing what they love—hanging out with their kids (human, animal, or plant), working on creative projects, reading thriller novels, or honestly, doing whatever the hell they want.

There’s no right way to be a business owner. You can do things differently if you choose to, even if your idea of “success” doesn’t match up with the traditional model!

That’s what Defy Creative is all about.

I started my business because I was tired of being who other people wanted me to be.

Growing up, I was always the “good girl” — the perfect daughter and student, an avid youth group participant at our church. When I went away to college, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that I was on the right path.

For any fellow business owners who feel like they're drowning and can't keep up with their work, seriously look no further than Danielle.

"As a working mom with two kids under 5, and homeschooling my kindergartener, I never had time for my business outside of client work. I struggled with mom guilt and felt like I was failing as a business owner. Danielle took so much pressure off of me, and she was so respectful of my time and schedule. I can't recommend her enough! She is one of the kindest, most loyal and supportive people you can have in your corner.”
