“What if AI takes over the Google search results, and SEO blogging doesn’t matter anymore? What do I do then, Danielle?!” 😨
This is a worry I’ve been seeing a LOT lately across the online business world—and I can’t blame you if you’ve wondered it yourself. I have, too, if I’m being honest.
With Google’s recent changes, including the addition of AI overviews and AI mode, the idea of SEO becoming irrelevant has been a very real possibility. And that feels scary! What happens if AI completely takes over Google, and none of the hard work you’ve put into your SEO even matters anymore??
Yes, I’ve had to grapple with the potential that the very topic I’ve been teaching about for so long could do a complete 180 in the next few years (or months)—but this reflection has also helped me realize the power that blogging holds EVEN without SEO in the mix.
Even without the organic reach that SEO offers. . . blogging is still impactful.
Even without the potential of attracting new inquiries to your website. . . blogging still makes a difference in your business.
Even with the rise of AI content, AI search modes, and AI overviews taking up prime real estate at the top of Google. . . blogging is still absolutely, 100% worth it, and I’m about to tell you why, k? I know it can feel scary and unknown, but just trust me!!
This is what I’ve decided to call my new “SEO And” approach to blogging: an approach that prioritizes SEO, yes, and considers how you can use blogging to support every single stage of your sales funnel, even past attracting new inquiries to your website. Because unfortunately, getting people to your site is only half the work!
SEO and. . . nurturing potential leads once they’ve found you.
SEO and. . . building brand trust & connection.
SEO and. . . providing an above & beyond experience to current clients.

Here are 6 reasons you should keep blogging for your business that have NOTHING to do with SEO ⬇️
If a potential client lands on your website from another source (IG, Pinterest, etc.) and sees that you have a library of free, value-packed resources they can start reading right away, you’ll immediately demonstrate your expertise and introduce yourself as someone they can trust.
You can also include links to blogs that you think may be relevant to them, in your initial response to their inquiry, showing them that you know exactly what they need before they’ve even asked for it.
Examples:
Blogs aren’t just for inquiring clients—they’re for your booked clients, too! Blogs that answer FAQ’s or offer helpful advice can be an incredible way to continue building trust with clients as you work with them, and serve them an above and beyond experience from start to finish. You’ll also save YOURSELF time by being able to send over a blog when they have a question, rather than writing the same email you’ve written a million times to past clients.
Examples:
Do you have services that you offer as add-ons or upsells to clients who have already booked? Use your blog as a way to feature + market them! Pick one of your most popular upsells (e.g. a day-after session for wedding photogs), and write a blog post about why you love it, what it would mean for your clients, the transformation it would give them, etc. It’s like a mini sales page.
Examples:
Blogs are a great way to display an up-to-date portfolio with ease. Feature your most recent clients, case studies, etc. and talk about your time working with them, why they came to you, what they loved about working with you, how their project turned out, etc. Showing potential clients real examples + real experiences is an amazing way to immediately demonstrate that you’re good at what you do, and to help them decide whether you’re the right fit for them!
💡 Examples:
If you offer any sort of education or want to in the future, blog posts are a fantastic way to get into the game. Write about your favorite tools you use in your business, how you’ve found success, client experience tips, marketing tips, etc. These can be great free lead-ins to paid educational offers that you link out to!

Blog posts are an easy way to increase passive, affiliate income by including links to your favorite products, tools, programs, and websites, or referral/discount codes. These can be blog posts to serve your clients (e.g. write about your favorite dress shop that you have a referral partnership with), or to serve fellow folks in your industry (e.g. write about the CRM you use for your business and include your affiliate link).
💡 Examples:
See what I mean?! Even if SEO were to completely disappear somehow and be a totally non-viable marketing option for small businesses, I would still be encouraging you to write blog posts.
To serve your clients with value-packed posts that immediately help them decide if you can help solve their problems. To show that you are, indeed, an expert in your field, and the expert that they should hire.
Now, if you want to skip the whole brainstorming ideas part and get straight to blogging. . . I’ve got just the thing for you 😉
