Stuck figuring out what to blog about for your creative business? Whether you’re a wedding pro, a social media influencer, or you run an online shop, it’s fucking HARD to come up with ideas when you’re staring at a cursor on a blank Google Doc for hours 😵 Luckily, I’ve got a little gift to make it easier on you: a list of 12 easy blog post ideas that you can steal & use over the next 12 months!
Included with each idea are 4 examples for 4 different niches/industries to show you what’s possible: a wedding pro, a social media manager, a houseplant shop, and a beauty influencer.
Here’s the thing, though:
Not every blog idea is designed to be heavily SEO-optimized—some are meant to serve your customers at a different point in their buying journey, and aren’t meant to really be seen on Google at all.
If that’s confusing to you, pause real quick and go download this freebie, so you can learn about why you should blog for reasons other than SEO!
Now let’s get into it, shall we? 🙂
Examples:
Use this blog post to make recommendations to your customers – bonus points if any of them are affiliate links, or something you can make commission off of!
These might be your own products/services, or products/services within your niche that you know your customers would align with. They may also be recommendations based off your years of experience as a professional in your industry, which will show your expertise + help customers build trust with you.
What you could talk about for each item on your list:

At this point, your customer is looking at a few different options, and they’re trusting you to show them the pros and cons of each one. You could easily write and “X vs. Y” comparison post for an overview of two different options, and then write a full pros & cons guide for each one where you go more in-depth.
Your job is to help them skip the trial & error of trying out each option by providing them with the advantages and disadvantages, and hopefully by the end of the blog they’ll know whether this option is right or not for them.

Blog posts are a GREAT way to answer questions you often get asked by your customers for two main reasons:
1) Your clients will be SO thankful and impressed when they ask a question and you send them a full-fledged blog post as an answer
2) It’ll save you a ton of time in the long run! Instead of having to answer the same questions over and over again in emails, texts, etc. from customers, you can simply send them the link to this guide.
A few ways that you can find your FAQ’s:

You may know a lot about your industry or what you have to offer, but your customers may not: how can you give them a beginner’s guide to understanding your product, service, or anything related to your niche?
What questions will every newbie have that you can answer in one big blog post? Let’s say you’re a beauty influencer: what questions does EVERYONE have about skincare, finding their skin type, deciding on a type of moisturizer, etc.?
Look back through your DM’s, inquiries, and emails from leads and see what kinds of questions they’re asking about what you have to offer; many of these might be questions starting with “how,” “why,” “when,” or “what.”
This is a great place to include any sort of simple step-by-step checklist to help give them actionable ways to get started; e.g. a 10-step checklist to planning a luxury wedding, or taking care of your houseplants.

You know how hard it is to do the thing you’re selling – how hard it is to create a consistent skincare routine, how hard it is to plan a wedding, how hard it is to bring a new plant home while avoiding pest issues.
Whatever it may be, help your customers get a head start by laying it all out for them! What’s one problem they’ll be running into, or one project they’ll be working on (such as planning a wedding), and how can you simplify the process for them?
Let’s say you’re a beauty influencer, and most of your customers will be creating a brand new skincare routine from scratch at some point in the process of learning from you, buying from you, or working with you. What are some common issues/obstacles they might run into, and how can you help them get ahead of those? What are common questions they may have? How can they make their journey in creating a new routine as feasible, realistic, and personalized as possible?
Examples:
Do you have a certain product, service, strategy, or idea you absolutely LOVE and want all your customers to book, invest in, or know about? Use this blog post to showcase why you love this thing so much, and why your customers should care about it, too!
This might be a favorite strategy of yours to book more work via social media, or maybe a fertilizer you’re obsessed with and want all of your customers to buy. These can be your own products/services that you’re trying to sell, or other recommendations that aren’t your own but you may make affiliate commission from (or that you just love and want to share about!).
Examples:
You’re a business owner for a reason – you’ve got great ideas that people want to hear! How can you solve a customer’s problem by passing along your genius ideas in a blog post?
This could look like a list of creative ideas to help your customers display plants in their home, with affiliate links to products/companies you love, or it could look like giving them some unique ways to improve their skincare routine. Your overall goal is to have customers leaving this blog post with fresh, creative, unique ideas that they can incorporate into their lives/projects/etc., or use to solve some sort of problem, and thinking about how awesome you are for sharing them 😉
Examples:
It’s very likely that at some point in the buying process, you’ll be needing to convince your customers of something – whether it be convincing them to hire you or to buy your product, or convincing them to use a certain strategy/idea you love.
Give them a list of reasons WHY they should do that thing, buy that product, invest their time/money/energy into that strategy – what are the benefits? How will it help make their lives easier? Why should they choose it over a different, similar thing?
Examples:
If you were to give your customers a list of the things they ABSOLUTELY need in order to succeed/achieve a certain result, what would those things be? Specific tools/programs/products you’d recommend? Pieces of advice? Certain things to avoid/stay away from? Make a list of your need-to-know advice that’ll help your customers out in one way or another.

So you’ve made some pretty killer recommendations to your customers – maybe you’ve recommended a certain product, service, or strategy – but they just aren’t taking them.
Use this blog post to show your customers why they NEED this specific item or service, and how it will benefit them + help them achieve their desired result.
Share testimonials, reviews, positive customer feedback, wins/results/success stories, etc.
Examples:
We’re all looking to save our precious time wherever we can, so how can you help your customers speed up a task/project/process and condense it into a smaller timeframe?
Maybe you’re great at writing social media captions super efficiently, or you’ve perfected your 15-minute morning makeup routine: share that with your customers!
How can they do X task faster? Are there any tasks they can skip over?
This is also great for customers who haven’t planned far enough in advance and are looking for more last-minute solutions to their problems; e.g. how to plan a wedding in 3 months because your customers decided they actually wanted to get married before the summer ended.
Examples:
I’m sure you have some customers here and there who like to go against the grain — or maybe your ideal customer is somewhat of a rebel in general. Give them recommendations that don’t fit the traditional ones you’d usually make, in case they don’t feel like they identify with the way that most people do this project/use this product/etc.
This is also a great blog post for providing lower-cost, or maybe more sustainable alternatives to what you’d traditionally recommend, for customers who are looking to save money/be more eco-friendly/etc.!
